Turkey condemned the Syrian regime parliament over a resolution recognizing the 1915 incidents in Ottoman era as so-called "genocide".
"Syrian Regime Parliament's resolution today (Feb. 13) recognizing the incidents of 1915 as so-called genocide provides a grim example in itself," a written statement by Foreign Ministry spokesman Hami Aksoy said.
Turkey on Feb. 11 dismissed claims that it had accepted ending the guarantorship system for Cyprus, under which Turkey stands as a guarantor for the island.
"News reports in the Greek Cypriot press alleging that Turkey has accepted ending the guarantorship system for Cyprus are not true," Foreign Ministry spokesman Hami Aksoy said in a statement.
The Eastern Mediterranean Gas Forum, in which Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) have been left out, is an unrealistic formation, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said on Jan. 16.
"If the purpose of this forum was really cooperation, of course, Turkey and the Turkish Cypriots would be invited to the forum as well," spokesman Hami Aksoy said in a statement.
