The leadership of the "We Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria" (WCC-DB) coalition, consisting of Kiril Petkov, Asen Vassilev, Hristo Ivanov, and Atanas Atanasov, has formally announced their joint participation in the upcoming early parliamentary elections and the elections for members of the European Parliament on June 9, 2024.

Tensions have reached a boiling point in Bulgaria as accusations fly regarding the extent of former Prime Minister Boyko Borissov's influence over the current caretaker government. Slavi Trifonov, leader of "There Is Such a People," sparked outrage with his claims that Borissov, not Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev, is effectively managing the caretaker government.

GERB leader Boyko Borissov expressed his perspective on the recent negotiations surrounding the formation of a government, highlighting the challenges and compromises faced during the process.

"Everyone is dancing to the little talkative Scheherazade Hristo," said Delyan Peevski on the sidelines of the Bulgarian parliament.

The chairman of the DPS parliamentary group, Delyan Peevski, accused the co-chairman of "We Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria" (WCC-DB), Hristo Ivanov, of wanting to impose his personnel in the prosecutor's office. In his words, Ivanov wanted to impose the candidacy of "his partner Andrey Yankulov for chief prosecutor and Sava Petrov for deputy chief prosecutor".

Atanas Atanassov, co-leader of Democratic Bulgaria (DB), emphasized the urgent need for National Assembly's attention on reforming special services, citing critical challenges they face.

The Governor and Deputy Governor of the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF), Stanimir Mihaylov and Prof Momchil Mavrov, have submitted their resignations to the National Assembly, confirmed by Parliament's press centre following a joint briefing by GERB leader Boyko Borissov, Democratic Bulgaria co-chair Hristo Ivanov, and We Continue the Change co-chair Asen Vassilev.

GERB leader Boyko Borissov, along with Democratic Bulgaria co-chair Hristo Ivanov and We Continue the Change co-chair Asen Vassilev, jointly announced their intention to request the resignation of the Governor and Deputy Governor of the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF).

The first parliamentary session following the local elections was abruptly halted due to a lack of quorum. Notably, this setback wasn't confined to GERB members; deputies from the DPS party also refrained from entering the chamber.

In a press conference following his victory in the Sofia mayoral race, Vasil Terziev outlined his plans to govern with a focus on the public interest, combat corruption, and rebuild trust in the municipal government.
