Turkey has evacuated its military personnel protecting the Tomb of Süleyman ?ah in northern Syria as well as the artifacts in the mausoleum in an operation jointly conducted by the intelligence organization and the Turkish army, a few days after reports suggested that the tomb was besieged by jihadists belonging to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).

End of duty comes for coup suspects

Turkey’s Chief of General Staff is expected to be Land Forces Commander Gen. Hulusi Akar as the second possible candidate Gen. Servet Yörük retired in the latest Supreme Military Board (YAŞ) meeting.
At the same meeting, the retirement of commanders who will be retried in the Balyoz (Sledgehammer) coup plot case were approved.
