In a tribute to Vera Mutafchieva's literary brilliance and cultural impact, Sofia hosted an event marking the 95th anniversary of her birth. Organized by the National Donor Fund "13 Centuries Bulgaria" (NEF), the gathering unveiled the English translation of Mutafchieva's renowned novel, "The Case of Cem".

Amidst a backdrop of mounting tensions and failed negotiations, Bulgaria finds itself entrenched in a political stalemate with significant implications. As the clock strikes noon, President Rumen Radev will deliver the first exploratory mandate for cabinet formation to GERB.

The Moldovan district of Taraclia, populated mainly by Bulgarians, will preserve its integrity, which will guarantee the rights of the Bulgarian community there. Vice President Iliana Yotova received this assurance from the Speaker of the Moldovan Parliament, Igor Grosu. The Vice President is visiting Chisinau today.

Vice President Iliyana Yotova stated that Bulgaria is not facing bankruptcy. According to her, our country does not need to take a new loan from the International Monetary Fund, nor to change the agreement with the fund, nor to take out new debt.

Saturday's opening of a Bulgarian cultural club in the North Macedonia town of Bitola named after Ivan Mihailov, a controversial 20th Century nationalist movement leader who became a Nazi collaborator, has been criticised as a threat to ongoing attempts to achieve a breakthrough in the two countries' dispute over history.

Taking timely measures to adequately protect the rights of Bulgarian citizens abroad when they are subject to attacks only because of their national self-awareness, was the agenda of the meeting of President Rumen Radev with the heads of the security services. Vice President Iliyana Yotova also took part in it, the Head of State's press secretary reported.

The parliamentary elections in Bulgaria should be on March 28, President Rumen Radev said.

"Elections must be held in due course with delivered and licensed voting machines and with all measures needed to guarantee the right of every Bulgarian to vote," the president added.

"The best-structured and most visible policy with the Bulgarian communities abroad is Sunday schools, but this is not enough. There is a need for a comprehensive system and continuity in Bulgarian education around the world - from pre-school age to university, lecturers on Bulgarian language and the development of Bulgarian studies.

Vice President Iliyana Yotova is on a working visit to Montenegro.

This morning she met with Prime Minister Duško Marković. Her talks continued with the head of the parliament's foreign committee, and she will meet with the Foreign Minister and with Montenegro President Milo Đukanović  in the afternoon.
