GERB Named its Mayoral Candidates for Plovdiv, Rousse and Haskovo

Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov's party GERB on August 15 named its candidates for mayors of Plovdiv, Rousse, and Haskovo in the forthcoming local government elections in October 2019, reports BNT

The incumbent mayors in the three cities are from the GERB party, but they are not among the newly named candidates.

Plovdiv. The first green classrooms in Bulgaria will be developed in Plovdiv as part of a pilot project, Plovdiv Mayor Ivan Totev told reporters, quoted by Focus Radio. The first five green classrooms will be located on the premises of Pencho Rachov Slaveykov Primary School, on a new plot that will be added to its yard.

Bulgaria has presented the Episcopal Basilica of Philippopolis and the Antiquity mosaics of Plovdiv to a large audience from different countries at the UNESCO head offices in Paris.

With its 2000 square meters of Antiquity mosaics dated to 4 and 5 c. the Episcopal Basilica has no analogue in Bulgaria and Southeast Europe.
