Introduction of COVID pass - Ivanuša: "Message of becoming an extremely big problem"
Ivanua told RTS that the situation with the coronavirus in Serbia is difficult and added that the introduction of measures, i.e. COVID passes in Serbia, gives the message that COVID-19 is becoming an extremely big problem that can get worse.
Over 7.000 newly infected, 38 people died

The number of patients in hospital treatment amounts to 4.837, while 188 patients are on respirators.
In the last 24 hours, 25.014 people were tested.

"There are a large number of people who are sensitive to the virus and become infected. Every wave is for itself, people forget about restrictions... Serbia is the leading country when it comes to the number of infected people," Ivanusa said being hosted on TV Prva.

"My position is that it should have been difficult to prevent it, considering how we live in the 21st century," said the director of the Office of the World Health Organization in Serbia, Marija Ivanua.
According to him, at the outbreak of the pandemic, some countries failed to establish a system of preventive measures.

Head of the WHO Office: Impressive
He said that he hoped that some quantities of the vaccine, through the COVAX program, would arrive in Serbia soon.
Ivanusa told RTS that the WHO is helping the authorities in Serbia and emphasized that vaccination is a safe way to achieve collective immunity and stop the epidemic.

WHO head for Serbia: I'm afraid that epidemic end is far away
He told RTS that he was afraid the end of the epidemic was far away.
Ivanusa added the vaccination had started worldwide, and that that brings hope.
"About 50 countries have started vaccination so far. The largest number of vaccines per 100 people was consumed in Israel, and in Spain only one vaccine per 100 people," Ivanusa said.

Ivanua states that Serbia may now be at the top of the third wave of the coronavirus epidemic.
He told Tanjug that the growth of the number of new patients on a daily basis has slowed down, that this could be the peak of the third wave and that it will be seen by the end of the week.

Ivanusa says that if 95% of citizens ware masks, the state would never be in a situation to "stop life", expressing fear that Serbia is relatively close to lockdown due to the worsening epidemiological situation, but that the day has not yet come.

"We hope that the summer will be relatively calm, but it is certainly extremely likely that it will return in the fall, and some peaks of the epidemic may even be over the summer," Ivanusa said as a guest in the morning program of RTS.
He stated that it is now much more important than before to respect measures of protection against the spread of coronavirus infection.

"Patients are being monitored, people who may be infected are being tested, other public health measures are being introduced," Ivanusa told Radio Television Serbia.
Asked if schools should be closed, he said it would be premature at this stage.
