Bulgaria's PM Convenes Security Council over Tensions in Macedonia

Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov will convene the Security Council at the Council of Ministers over tensions in Macedonia after Saturday's deadly clashes between police and an armed group in Kumanovo.

Borisov noted Tuesday that security services kept informing about risks for Bulgaria, according to reports of the Bulgarian National Radio.

Skopje Court Orders 30-Day Detention for Armed Group Arrested in Kumanovo

A Skopje-based court has ordered 30-day detention for of all of the 30 members of the armed group arrested after Saturday's police operation in Kumanovo.

The Public Prosecution Office for organized crime and corruption, which is in charge of the investigation, completed the questionings of the 30 suspects on Monday.

Macedonia Declares Mourning For Police Killed in Gunbattles

Shooting continued Sunday morning in the northern Macedonian town of Kumanovo, where gun battles raging on Saturday left at least five police dead and dozens wounded.

After a relatively silent night, more shots were heard about 7am Sunday as police swept the area for more alleged terrorists in and around the Divo Naselje district, which bore the brunt of the fighting on Saturday.
