Pahor to host regional summit in September
Ljubljana – Slovenian President Borut Pahor will host the leaders of the Brdo-Brijuni initiative of regional cooperation for a summit at Brdo estate on 12 September which is to call on the EU to step up enlargement to the Western Balkans.

Slovenia to Seek EU Candidate Status for Bosnia

Delo speculates about Janša reaching border deal with Croatia
Ljubljana – The newspaper Delo speculates about the possibility of Slovenia and Croatia reaching a deal on the border issue under the current government in Monday’s front-page commentary, finding that this could well be PM Janez Janša’s trump card in the next year’s election.
‘Tragic Period in Croatian History’ Commemorated at Jasenovac Camp
Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic told the annual commemoration at Jasenovac on Thursday that the Independent State of Croatia, NDH, a fascist puppet state run by the Ustasa movement and supported by Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy, was "one of the most tragic periods in Croatian history".
Brdo-Brijuni summit postponed again
Ljubljana – President Borut Pahor has informed leaders of the Brdo-Brijuni Process that the summit marking the 10th anniversary of this initiative for the Western Balkans, which was to be held next Monday in Slovenia, has been cancelled due to the current epidemiological situation.

Croatia, Slovenia Leaders To Discuss Gulf Dispute
Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic and his Slovenian counterpart, Miro Cerar, meeting in New York for the UN General Assembly session, agreed to meet again in Zagreb on September 27 to discuss the dispute over the territorial waters between Croatia and Slovenia in the Piran Gulf.

Croatia Parliament Votes in Plenkovic's New Govt
A new centre-right coalition government in Croatia under Andrej Plenkovic, president of the leading Croatian Democratic Union, HDZ, was voted in by the country's parliament on Wednesday.
The coalition government of the HDZ, the centre-right Bridge of the Independent Lists, MOST, and all eight national minority MPs gathered the support of 91 of the 151 MPs in parliament.

Plenkovic to be Named Croatia's PM-Designate
After 23 days of negotiations with future partners in government, Andrej Plenkovic, president of the leading centre-right party, the Croatian Democratic Union, HDZ, is due to be named prime minister-designate on Monday by the country's President.
