Greeks ever more dominant in the Euroleague

Vassilis Spanoulis is back for good, leading Olympiakos to a home triumph over Euroleague favorite CSKA Moscow, while Panathinaikos produced an emphatic victory over Maccabi Tel Aviv, as the table's top four includes the two Greek superpowers.

Panathinaikos extended its perfect home record beating Maccabi 89-76 on Tuesday, shaking off the absence of injured playmaker Nick Calathes.

Euroleague triumphs for Greens and Reds

The tough week in the Euroleague has started triumphantly for the Greek teams, as Panathinaikos trounced hitherto joint leader Khimki in Athens and Olympiakos downed European champion Fenerbahce in Turkey.

On Tuesday the Greens eclipsed Khimki 93-65 at the Olympic Sports Hall with an outstanding all-around performance that gave the Russian team no chance on the night.

Greens defeat Real Madrid, but Galatasaray shocked Olympiakos

Panathinaikos saw off Euroleague leader Real Madrid on Thursday, while Olympiakos was upset at home by Galatasaray on Friday and is yet to clinch home advantage for the play-offs.

The Greens produced a great performance in offense to beat Real 88-82 at the Olympic Sports Hall in Athens and reach a 15-11 record that keeps them in fifth, two wins behind the top four.

Olympiakos wins first finals game with Panathinaikos

Olympiakos had a harder time than expected in beating depleted Panathinaikos in Game 1 of the final series of the Basket League on Sunday, but will still be happy with the 76-70 result at the Peace and Friendship Stadium that maintains it as the clear favorite to win back the league title from its eternal rival.
