Has the Venice Film Festival saved its best for last? Oscar-winner Jessica Chastain is back on Sept. 8 with a provocative romance between a recovering alcoholic and dementia patient in "Memory."

Julia Ducournau's "Titane," a wild body-horror thriller featuring sex with a car and a surprisingly tender heart, won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival on Saturday, news wires reported. Ducournau became the second female filmmaker to win the festival's top honor in its 74 year history.

Already the master of 2020's pandemic-era movie landscape, Netflix on Jan. 12 offered a preview of upcoming 2021 releases, a list with no fewer than 70 star-studded feature films.

Oscar-winning actress Cate Blanchett is to chair the jury that will pick the award winners at this year's Cannes Film Festival, reported BBC. 

She is "a rare and unique artist with talent and conviction", the Cannes Film Festival organisers said.
