British Prime Minister Boris Johnson held the first election rally of the campaign for early elections in Birmingham, where he stressed the importance of the vote. Johnson called the December 12 election to try to break the Brexit deadlock, paralyzing the country for more than three years and beginning to undermine confidence in the world's fifth largest economy.

EC: The European Union Ready for No-Deal Brexit
The European Commission has said that the European Union is ready for Brexit without a deal and that such a variant would most likely hurt the UK, Reuters reported.
The Commission does not currently consider it necessary to take any further steps to prepare for such a scenario, EC spokeswoman Natasha Bertaud said at a briefing.
