The Octave Day of Easter is marked by the Eastern Orthodox Church today, named Saint Thomas Sunday.

It commemorates the event of the Holy Apostle Thomas' touching the wounds of Christ.

''The Ressurection of Christ disperses darkness'', Bulgarian Patriarch Neophyte said at midnight at St.Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Sofia. He served the holy paschal service followed by the Holy Loturgy for the Resurrection of Christ.

 It is Holy Saturday today, the last day of the Holy week before Resurrection Sunday. Holy Saturday, also known as the Easter Eve commemorates the day that Jesus Christ's body lay in the tomb.
