World powers condemn deadly Gaza air strike on aid workers

World powers widely condemned an Israeli strike in the Gaza Strip that killed seven charity staff delivering desperately needed aid to the war-torn territory.

World Central Kitchen — one of two NGOs spearheading efforts to distribute aid brought by boat — said a "targeted Israeli strike" on Monday killed Australian, British, Palestinian, Polish and U.S.-Canadian staff.

Israeli army chief says strike killing aid workers was 'grave mistake'

Israel's defence chief said Wednesday a strike that killed seven aid workers in Gaza was a "grave mistake", after the deaths prompted a chorus of international outrage.

"This incident was a grave mistake," IDF chief Herzi Halevi said in a video message after the strike that hit a World Central Kitchen (WCK) convoy delivering aid on Monday.

OpenAI unveils voice-cloning too

OpenAI on Friday revealed a voice-cloning tool it plans to keep tightly controlled until safeguards are in place to thwart audio fakes meant to dupe listeners.

A model called "Voice Engine" can essentially duplicate someone's speech based on a 15-second audio sample, according to an OpenAI blog post sharing results of a small-scale test of the tool.

Washington trip called off due to ND conference

The planned visit to Washington next week by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis to attend the annual event commemorating the Greek Revolution has been canceled as it coincides with the conference of ruling New Democracy. 

Mitsotakis was to travel to the US on April 4 to attend the White House event where he was to also have a meeting with President Joe Biden.
