The Humanitarian Law Centre NGO published a dossier on Thursday about the crimes committed by the Serbian Volunteer Guard paramilitary unit, also known as Arkan's Tigers, and urged the authorities in Belgrade to prosecute any suspects who are still alive.

The war crime trial of former Drina Corps commander Milenko Zivanovic will start on May 30, it was decided at a preparatory hearing at Belgrade Higher Court on Wednesday.

After UN officials repeatedly expressed concerns that freed war criminals have used media appearances after their release to deny atrocities, the Mechanism for International Criminal Tribunals has barred Serbian police general Sreten Lukic from denying any crimes committed during the Yugoslav wars as a condition of his release.

The protesters' slogan actually reflects the official stance of Serbia, which is to deny that the killings of more than 7,000 Bosniak men and boys from Srebrenica by Bosnian Serb forces in July 1995 and the expulsions of some 4,000 women, children and elderly people was genocide.

The Humanitarian Law Centre said on Monday that it has filed a criminal complaint to the Serbian war crimes prosecution against Vladimir Arsic and Radmilo Zeljaja, senior officers of the Bosnian Serb Army's 43rd Motorised Brigade during wartime.

He has also said that he favours early release from prison for Milorad 'Legija' Ulemek and Zvezdan Jovanovic, who are serving sentences for the assassination of Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic in 2003. He said that they should be freed because "they are heroes" who fought on behalf of Serbs.
