South Korean film "Parasite" has been named best picture at this year's Oscars, becoming the first non-English language film to take the top prize. Parasite won four awards in total: as the best international film, for best director, and the best original screenplay award.

Dorothy’s dress sold for $1.56 million

The dress worn by Hollywood screen star Judy Garland when she played Dorothy in “The Wizard of Oz” was auctioned at $1.56 million in New York. It was the chief highlight in a sale by Bonhams auction house where 400 pieces of Hollywood memorabilia were auctioned. Total sales by the auction house and Turner Classic Movies netted total sales worth more than $4 million.

Judy Garland was an extremely talented actress and singer who fought against psychological problems and a horrible drug addiction for many years, according to her agent Stevie Phillips.

 

Phillips became Garland’s shadow in the 60’s, and portrays the star’s life shockingly in her new book, released 46 years after the famous woman’s death.
