Amid Political Turmoil, Kosovo Parliament Extends Holiday

The chairman of parliament, Kadri Veseli, said on Monday that the date of the next assembly session is yet to be decided because MPs' holidays have been extended until next month.

"Many members of parliament are abroad until February, and we are planning to hold a presidency meeting by the beginning of February to decide on the dates of the parliamentary sessions," Veseli said.

Kosovo Opposition MPs Tear-Gas Parliament Again

Opposition party MPs set off three tear gas canisters in the legislature on Thursday, causing the chamber to be evacuated and the parliamentary session to be halted.

The canisters were brought into parliament despite that fact that MPs were searched on Thursday morning under new security measures introduced after a similar tear-gas attack by opposition lawmakers last week.

Kosovo Opposition MPs Hurl Eggs at PM

Opposition MPs hurled eggs towards Kosovo's Prime Minister, Isa Mustafa, while he was addressing parliament on the latest agreement reached between Pristina and Belgrade on August 25.

MPs from the nationalist Self-determination movement erupted during the Prime Minister's speech when he said that the recent agreement complied with Kosovo's constitution.
