Pope Francis has accepted the invitation of President Katerina Sakellaropoulou to visit Greece in September.
Sakellaropoulou issued the invitation in a telephone conversation with the pope about a year ago.

Sakellaropoulou speaks with Zelenskiy on Ukraine's relations with EU, NATO
President Katerina Sakellaropoulou discussed Ukraine's relations with the EU and NATO in a phone call with her Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskiy on Wednesday.
The two officials also talked about tackling the coronavirus pandemic and the prospects of rebooting tourism, as national vaccination programs are unfolding in both countries, her office said.
PM, President remember the Holocaust
Greek leaders on Wednesday marked the 76th anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi-operated Auschwitz death camp in Poland.
"Freedom, reason and dignity… The very nature of man was murdered at Auschwitz," Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis tweeted.
"Memory must translate into constant vigilance and action against the Absolute Evil," he said.

President marks Holocaust Remembrance Day
Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou on Wednesday marked the 76th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz death camp saying that memory of the crimes committed by the Nazis during the Holocaust was necessary to prevent "the onslaught of evil."
