Economist: Turkey could be on ‘brink of dictatorship’
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, or rather his shadow, has made the cover of this week's issue of the Economist in a decidedly unflattering way, as a leader that has taken his country "to the brink of disaster."
The UN Recognized Turkey’s New Name
From today, the English name of Turkey will be written as Turkiye. This was stated by UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric.
In a statement to the Anatolian Agency Dujarric said the organization had received a letter from the Turkish Foreign Minister regarding a change in the country's name, and the change takes effect on the day the letter is received.

Erdogan threatens to turn Hagia Sophia into mosque
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in the midst of a regional and municipal elections campaign, has again threatened to turn the Byzantine Patriarchal Cathedral of Hagia Sophia (Holy Wisdom of God) , which after the fall of Constantinople was turned into an imperial mosque and into a museum in the 1930s, into a mosque once again.
