President Erdoğan thanks main opposition MP for speech on teacher killed by PKK

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has thanked a main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) deputy in a phone call over a speech he delivered in parliament about a teacher who had been abducted and killed by outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants in the eastern province of Tunceli.

Eight suspects arrested for planning attack on main opposition's 'justice march'

Eight suspects were arrested on July 19 for planning an attack on the "justice march," a 450-km walk led by main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu. 

The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) suspect named Oğuzhan Korkmaz was detained in the Marmara province of Kocaeli, after 14 suspects who had contacts with him were detained on July 5.

July 15: The new National Day

It is the first anniversary of the terrible July 15, 2016, coup attempt, which deserves to be celebrated as the victory of civil politics over such a dark plot and to be considered as a national day. Indeed, we have to be proud that the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) and all opposition circles duly defended democracy against an attempted coup last year.
