Bulgarian-Ukrainian Ship Crew Evacuated from Mariupol

Fourteen Bulgarian seamen and one Ukrainian who have been evacuated from a ship that was stranded in embattled Mariupol, arrived on Monday in the Bulgarian city of Varna, the authorities said.

The sailors from the ship "Tsarevna" arrived in their homeland. They were picked up by a government plane. The machine landed at Varna Airport.
14 Bulgarian citizens and one citizen of Ukraine, a graduate of the Bulgarian Naval School, were evacuated from the port of Mariupol.

The PM and Foreign Minister visited North Macedonia and declared the Bulgarian Community a “Priority”
"The Bulgarian community in the Republic of North Macedonia is a real priority," said Prime Minister Kiril Petkov at a meeting at the Consulate General of Bulgaria in Bitola, BTA reported.
He called for hard work on both sides of the border to overcome all problems and make the Balkans a prosperous region.

The arrest of former Prime Minister and GERB leader Boyko Borissov is illegal, the Sofia District Court ruled.
The General Directorate of the National Police must pay the costs of BGN 300 which Borissov incurred in the case, plus another BGN 10 for his filing.

Unexpectedly, the Foreign Ministry said that a group led by the head of military intelligence Gen. Venelin Venev never went to Mariupol to evacuate the Bulgarian sailors from the ship "Tsarevna".

The group of sailors on the ship "Tsarevna" is about to move to Donetsk, from where it will depart for Bulgaria. This was announced by Prime Minister Kiril Petkov.
"The other part of the crew - three Bulgarians and two Ukrainian citizens, including the captain of the ship, remain on board at will," Petkov explained.
Bulgaria to Maintain Block on North Macedonia’s Path to EU: Minister
Foreign Minister Teodora Genchovska told media on Tuesday evening that "Bulgaria's position remains unchanged" and that Sofia will continue to block the start of North Macedonia's EU accession talks until its demands are met.
Her comments came in response to Bulgaria media citing German Foreign Affairs Minister Annalena Baerbock that Genchovska had promised the veto will be lifted.
