Bulgaria's Prime Minister, Nikolai Denkov, lauded Austria's recent shift in stance as a positive step towards Schengen expansion. This move by Vienna signifies a willingness to grant Bulgaria and Romania entry into the border-free travel area, albeit limited to air travel for now.

The fee for the transfer of Russian gas through Bulgaria has been waived. The parties that support the government have agreed on this. On the sidelines of the parliament, WCC-DB co-chair Kiril Petkov pointed out:

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky conveyed gratitude to the Bulgarian Parliament for reaffirming their commitment to deliver armoured personnel carriers (APCs) as part of a new military aid package to Ukraine. The Security Council of the Council of Ministers faced deadlock over the controversial derogation of Russian oil imports, leading to heightened tensions between "We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria" (WCC-DB), GERB, and DPS.

Kiril Petkov, co-chair of "We Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria" (WCC-DB), backed the "Denkov-Gabriel" cabinet, emphasizing Bulgaria's defense strategy focusing on modernizing the army with 21st-century technologies.

The first parliamentary session following the local elections was abruptly halted due to a lack of quorum. Notably, this setback wasn't confined to GERB members; deputies from the DPS party also refrained from entering the chamber.

In a press conference following his victory in the Sofia mayoral race, Vasil Terziev outlined his plans to govern with a focus on the public interest, combat corruption, and rebuild trust in the municipal government.

"We should also thank the other right-wing voters, outside our coalition."

This was said by the co-chairman of "We Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria" (WCC-DB) Kiril Petkov. He admitted that the support of GERB leader Boyko Borissov also played a role, although according to sociologists, most of the party's voters supported Vanya Grigorova, the candidate of the left.

In a surprising turn of events, Anton Hekimyan, GERB's mayoral candidate for Sofia, suggests his support for Vasil Terziev from "United for Sofia" in the upcoming runoff election. Hekimyan, who secured third place in the first round, expressed his intention to cast a reasoned vote despite the absence of a right-wing candidate in the race.
