Bulgarians Commemorate 100 Years Since the Death of the Patriarch of Bulgarian Literature

Today Bulgarians commemorate 100 years since the death of the Patriarch of Bulgarian Literature Ivan Vazov.

A memorial ceremony was held in the capital, organized by the National Literary Museum at the poet's grave, behind the St. Sophia Church. Relatives of Ivan Vazov and representatives of state and cultural institutions attended the pilgrimage.

 Events were held in many places across the country marking the 184th birth anniversary of Bulgarian revolutionary and national hero Vassil Levski. Dubbed the Apostle of Freedom, Levski organized and led a revolutionary movement to liberate Bulgaria from the Ottoman rule. 

Bulgaria's High-Profile Anti-Mafia Case 'Octopus' Re-Launched

The Sofia City Court has re-launched the high-profile anti-mafia case known as "Octopus."

The trail was launched after a police operation against organized crime dubbed "Octupus" conducted in February 2010 during the first term in office of Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, according to reports of dnevnik.bg.
