Bulgaria, Romania Call for Increased NATO Presence, Energy Security
Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev and his Romanian counterpart Klaus Iohannis issued a joint call on Friday for NATO to increase its presence in the member countries on the eastern flank.
Iohannis expressed the two countries' support for consolidation of the collective defence and reaction capacity of the Alliance in view of the security challenges in the region, AGERPRES reports.

President Klaus Iohannis stated on Friday that Romania and Bulgaria have as joint objective consolidating the collective defence within NATO, given the context of the security challenges in the region.

He showed that the discussions with his Bulgarian counterpart focused also on the recent developments on the security agenda.
Iohannis: Arms deliveries are not a solution for Ukraine at this moment
President Klaus Iohannis announced, on Thursday, that on March 17 he will conduct an official visit to Ukraine and mentioned that he does not believe arms deliveries to this country are a solution at this moment for resolving the conflict in the area.

Bulgaria President to Discuss Energy Ties with Romania's Iohannis
Bulgaria's President Rosen Plevneliev is due to meet with Romanian counterpart Klaus Iohannis on a Friday visit to Bucharest.
Plevneliev is the first head of state to do this since Iohannis was sworn in following his unexpected victory against PM Victor Ponta in November.
