Development Aid and Greece Top Croatia Forum Agenda

The tenth annual Croatia Forum, started on Thursday in Dubrovnik in southern Croatia under the logo "New development policy - towards partnership and a common vision."

Three-day-long conference, gathering 27 foreign ministers and other senior officials, will discuss development aid, sustainable growth, terrorism and other issues hampering regional progress.

Croatian President Cool on Pusic's UN Bid

President Kolinda Grabar Kitarovic's office on Monday clearly distanced itself from Foreign Minister Vesna Pusic's bid to become UN secretary general.

The President's office told BIRN that Kolinda Grabar Kitarovic had other priorities, saying that "there are major issues in Croatia, such as the economy and negative demographic trends, which must constantly be stressed.

Liberland Leader Still Smiling After His Arrest

Vit Jedlicka, president of a self-proclaimed statelet on the Danube called Liberland, is in defiant and optimistic mode following his arrested on Saturday by the Croatian border police and one night's detention.

"I think we need more talks on Liberland's existence and on Liberland's borders," Jedlicka told BIRN after his release.
