PASOK’s Androulakis tables motion of no confidence in gov’t
Socialist PASOK leader Nikos Androulakis has submitted a no-confidence vote in the government, following a newspaper report alleging that evidence from the Tempe railway disaster was tampered with.
In tabling the motion, Androulakis accused the government of "systematically undermining the rule of law."
Metsola in Athens to meet Mitsotakis, boost participation in EU elections
Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will meet visiting European Parliament President Roberta Metsola in Athens on Tuesday, as part of her campaign to raise awareness and encourage people to vote in the European Parliament elections in June.

The president of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, will visit Athens on Tuesday for talks with Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Parliament Speaker Konstantinos Tasoulas.

Security system upgrade at Greece’s Fort Knox completed
Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, President of the Parliament Konstantinos Tasoulas and ministers toured the Bank of Greece's vault which was recently upgraded with new security systems, as guests of its governor, Yannis Stournaras. The vault stores 71 of the 151 tons of Greece's gold.
Spartiates MP Haris Katsivardas becomes independent
Harris Katsivardas, a lawmaker who was elected with the far-right Spartiates party in the north sector of Athens, announced on Thursday that he is quitting the party's parliamentary group and becoming independent.
The announcement was made in a letter to Parliament President Konstantinos Tasoulas.
Probe into ‘mafia’ remarks
Supreme Court Prosecutor Georgia Adeilini has initiated an investigation into controversial statements made by the leader of the far-right Spartiates (Spartans), Vassilis Stigas, who last week accused three of his party's MPs of being under the influence of "outside centers," drawing parallels with "the Greek mafia and Don Corleone."

House seats sorted after SYRIZA gripe over Spartans
Re-elected Parliament President Konstantinos Tasoulas has agreed to change the seating arrangements in the House after SYRIZA protested the decision to put the lawmakers of the far-right Spartiates (Spartans) between those of the leftist main opposition.
SYRIZA said Tasoulas pledged he will "proceed with every action to solve the issue that has been created."
MPs elect deputy parliamentary speakers
Following the earlier re-election of Konstantinos Tasoulas as parliamentary speaker, MPs have selected seven deputy speakers from five of the eight parties represented in the chamber.
The nominees from the extreme-right parties Niki and Spartans, as well as from anti-establishment Course of Freedom, failed to garner enough votes to be elected deputy speakers.
