Turkish furniture sector set to broaden its global presence

Turkey, which made $3.5 billion furniture exports last year, is preparing to open two furniture malls in the U.S. and Dubai in coming months.

While the country's furniture sector continues its existence in the global market in terms of exports, it aims to create a global brand and permanent sales channel abroad.

Top Turkish furniture showroom eyes expansion abroad

With a showroom set to open in the U.S. next year, Modoko, Turkey's oldest furniture showroom dealer, is looking to do the same in the Europe and Middle East markets.

As a key player in Turkey's $20 billion furniture market, Modoko hopes to boost its exports by 30% in 2020, said CEO Koray Çalışkan in a press release on Dec. 16.
