Turkey limits export of raw materials for furniture
Turkey has started implementing limitations on exports of some raw materials of furniture, including flakeboard, oriented strand board, fiberboard and some types of wood.
According to the country's Official Gazette on June 4, these materials have been entered in the list of the Goods Subject to Registered Export.
Solid showing in Turkish furniture exports despite virus
Turkey's buoyant furniture sector managed to maintain its strong export performance in 2020 despite the coronavirus, according to industry experts.
Nuri Gürcan, head of the Furniture Industry Businessmen Association, said Turkey's exports in 2020 totaled $3.5 billion, unchanged from the previous year, bucking the challenges of the pandemic.

Top Turkish furniture showroom eyes expansion abroad
With a showroom set to open in the U.S. next year, Modoko, Turkey's oldest furniture showroom dealer, is looking to do the same in the Europe and Middle East markets.
As a key player in Turkey's $20 billion furniture market, Modoko hopes to boost its exports by 30% in 2020, said CEO Koray Çalışkan in a press release on Dec. 16.
