''Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) will file a complaint with the Constitutional Court, seeking the annulment of some texts of the public finances law, as the government is distributing funds mainly towards municipalities of the ruling party Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria (GERB)'', BSP leader Korneliya Ninova told reporters, quoted by FOCUS News Agency.

The Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) has demanded the resignation of the Parliament's president, Dimitar Glavchev.

''The Parliament has not been working for six weeks now because the government and the ruling majority have no programme for governance and legislation'', BSP leader Korneliya Ninova told journalists, quoted by FOCUS News Agency.

''The government will face the opposition's insisting on the implementation of all decisions taken at today's Consultative Council of National Security.

The Parliament has approved the resignation of its member Kiril Dobrev, Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP), FOCUS News Agency reported.

The resignation was approved with 182 votes in favour, 2 against and 2 abstentions.

Locals in Bulgaria's three largest cities, Sofia, Plovdiv and Varna, were due to stage protests on Monday demanding the resignation of the powerful Prosecutor General, Sotir Tsatsarov.

Although Boyko Borissov's centre-right GERB party holds the greatest number of seats in the new Bulgarian parliament - 95 - another "party" might be said to have secured an absolute majority for the next four years, namely newcomers.

This is the best result we have gotten since the parliamentary elections in 2009, state BSP leader Korneliya Ninova.

2009 - 17%, 2013 - 26%, 2014 - 15%, 2016 - presidential elections - 25% and now 27.20% support. Thus, despite our loss, this is the best result for BSP, said Ninova.

BSP's leader Korneliya Ninova has made a statement to the media at the headquarters of the party at 20 Positano St.

It was announced beforehand that she will not answer any questions. Her argument is the same as Boyko Borisov's - there are no official results yet.

The centre-right Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria, GERB, led by ex-Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, won the snap parliamentary polls on Sunday by a margin of 4 per cent from its closest rival, according to the first exit polls released by Bulgaria's main polling agencies - Alpha Research and Gallup International Balkan.

Polling stations are open between 7am and 8pm on Sunday in Bulgaria, where over 6.8 million people are entitled to vote to elect Bulgaria's 44th National Assembly.

A total of 45,701 Bulgarians living abroad have registered to take part in the vote, which will take place in 371 polling stations in 70 countries around the world.
