Greece extends lockdown until May 4
Greece will extend measures taken to stem the spread of the coronavirus in the country by one week to May 4 from April 27, government spokesman Stelios Petsas announced Thursday.
He said the new plan on how to gradually recall some of the restrictions will be announced by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, early next week, possibly on Monday (April 27).

Greek PM wants to expedite lifting of measures
Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has sent out a clear message that the plan to gradually lift restrictions to contain the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic should unfold just as swiftly as they were imposed.
Apart from April 27, when courts and registries will open, the most likely starting date for the opening of small commercial shops such as hairdressers is May 4.

Albanian seasonal workers could go to Greece in May, PM says
Albania and Greece, whose borders are closed because of the coronavirus outbreak, agreed to work on paving the way to allow Albanian seasonal agriculture workers to go to Greece by mid-May, Albania's prime minister, Edi Rama, said on Wednesday.
Coronavirus cases rise to 2,408 though no new deaths reported
Greek Health Ministry representative Sotiris Tsiodras on Wednesday announced seven new cases of coronavirus, bringing the total to 2,408, adding that there were no new deaths over the past 24 hours, so the death toll remains at 121.
A total of 55 coronavirus patients are intubated, with an average age of 67, and 51 have left intensive care, he said.
