European chief prosecutor concerned over govt decision

Brussels – European Chief Prosecutor Laura Kövesi has reacted to the government’s decision to annul the procedure to appoint Slovenia’s two European delegated prosecutors by saying the Slovenian authorities’ lack of sincere cooperation seriously undermines the trust in the effective functioning of the management and control systems for EU funds in Slovenia.

Bulgaria: SJC Prosecutors’ College to Send Extra Info about Candidates for EU Delegated Prosecutors

The Prosecutors' College of the Supreme Judicial Council Wednesday decided to send additional information to the European Public Prosecutor's Office (EPPO) about Bulgaria's candidates for European delegated prosecutors. The decision was prompted by a letter from European Chief Prosecutor Laura Kovesi requesting additional data on seven of the country's ten candidates.

EU Prosecutor Brushed off Seven out of Ten Bulgarian Delegated Candidates

The European Public Prosecutor's Office (EPPO) is about to reject seven out of 10 of Bulgaria's candidates for the European Delegated Prosecutor, a source from the EPPO told EURACTIV Bulgaria. The EPPO, led by Laura Kovesi, has notified the Bulgarian justice ministry that they have remarks about seven of the candidates the Bulgarian authorities proposed on 18 February. 

Its Official: Laura Kovesi Will Be the First Prosecutor General of the European Union

Laura Kovesi was finally confirmed as Prosecutor General of the European Union. The decision was announced by the European Parliament (EP). Earlier this week, the EU Council adopted its decision.

Today's decision of the leaders of the political groups and the EP President  begins the 7-year term of Kovesi. She will be the first head of the EU prosecutor's office.

The EP and the European Council Appointed Laura Codruța Kövesi as the First European Chief Prosecutor

The European Parliament and the Council of the European Union have agreed to appoint Ms Laura Codruța Kövesi as the first European Chief Prosecutor.

The Office's seat will be located in Luxembourg, and Kövesi will sit for a non-renewable term of seven years.

Bulgarian PM Borisov will Support Kovesi as EU Chief Prosecutor

Prime Minister Boyko Borisov will support the candidacy of Romanian Laura Kovesi for the post of European Chief Prosecutor, bTV announced, citing the government press service. In the first vote on her candidacy, the Bulgarian ambassador to the EU was against, but now there is obviously a reversal of moods in Sofia due to the change of rule in Brussels.
