Prominent historian İlber Ortaylı, who accompanied Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni during her visit to Istanbul over the weekend, has denied the claims regarding her alleged proposal on migrants that stirs debated and controversy on social media.
Tutankhamun’s treasures on show in Istanbul
The exhibition, "Tutankhamun, the Boy King's Treasures," which has traveled the major cities of the world for more than 60 years and broken records with more than 40 million visitors, is in Istanbul for the first time.
On the 100th anniversary of the discovery of the treasure in the Valley of the Kings in Egypt, the exhibition opens today at UNIQ Expo Istanbul.

Cultural Road Festival opens in Diyarbakır
The Sur Cultural Road Festival, organized for the first time this year within the scope of the Turkish Cultural Road Festival events, has started in Diyarbakır.
Organized by the Culture and Tourism Ministry, the festival will host more than 600 events with the participation of more than 2,000 artists until Oct. 16.

Famous Russian Turkologist dies aged 86
Mihail Meyer, one of the most prominent Turkologists known worldwide who had formed his academic career in the field of Ottoman Empire and modern Turkey, has died at the age of 86.
"Meyer has left the world of Turkology and his Turkish folks behind," prominent Turkish historian İlber Ortaylı said on April 21.
