Growth allows for more support to primary sector
As the Greek economy grows, so does the state's degree of flexibility for supporting the primary sector, Minister of Rural Development and Food Lefteris Avgenakis said on Wednesday in his message to the conference of the Panhellenic Association of Exporters on the topic "The Growing Extroversion of the Greek Economy."

Avgenakis: Decision on EU agriculture policy positive, but not enough
Τhe decisions of the EU member states regarding changes in the regulations of the Common Agriculture Policy are a good development, but not enough to alleviate the farmers' concerns of farmers, said Rural Development and Food Minister Lefteris Avgenakis in an interview with state broadcaster ERT.

Rural Development Minister discusses CAP changes
"As long as the Common Agricultural Policy does not change, no country will be able to absorb 100% of the resources it is entitled to," Rural Development and Food Minister Lefteris Avgenakis said in an interview with Skai radio station on Wednesday.

Compensation claims for livestock farmers to start on Thursday
Livestock farmers affected by last summer's wildfires and September's Storm Daniel in Thessaly, Fthiotida and Evros, will be able to claim compensation starting this week, Rural Development and Food Minister Lefteris Avgenakis said on Monday.
The application period starts on March 7 and runs until April 30, with the government having earmarked a budget of €45 million.
