State-of-the-art livestock facilities foreseen for flood-stricken Thessaly plain
The livestock facilities that will be built anew on the flood-destroyed plain of Thessaly will be state-of-the-art and include escape routes for animals in case of new floods, officials at the Agricultural Development and Foods Ministry told the Athens-Macedonian News Agency.
In addition, they will be fully funded by the state.
Avgenakis meets counterpart in Cyprus
Agricultural Development and Food Minister Lefteris Avgenakis met with the Republic of Cyprus' minister of agriculture, rural development and environment, Petros Xenophontos, in Nicosia on Friday.

Avgenakis talks exports with Indian counterparts
Issues related to developing partnerships in agri-food products between Greece and India were discussed in a series of meetings by Greek Agricultural Development & Foods Minister Lefteris Avgenakis with India's ministers Parshottam Rupala (Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries) and Piyush Goyal (Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution) during his visit to New Delhi on Friday.

Government officials to survey fire-affected areas in Evros
A government delegation embarked on a visit to assess the areas affected by the fires in Evros, in northeastern Greece, on Monday.

Teen boxing champion dies from head injury
A teenage European boxing champion, Vasilis Topalos, died on Monday after suffering a head injury on December 12 at the gym where he trained, in the Athens suburb of Tavros. The 16-year-old Greek athlete underwent surgery and was in critical condition in intensive care.

Sports minister suspends funding to sailing federation amid abuse probe
