The Ellaktor tug-of-war between brothers Dimitris and Anastasios Kallitsantsis on the one side and Leonidas Bobolas and Dimitris Koutras on the other ended after a month and a half on Wednesday, with the proposal by the Kallitsantsis brothers' Change4Ellaktor initiative emerging victorious from the construction company's general meeting.

Ellaktor's critical general shareholders meeting next Thursday looks set to be the mother of all battles among stakeholders, as it will to a great extent determine who will manage the country's biggest construction group in the future.

In a letter sent to Kathimerini, the businessman Leonidas Bobolas has denied any wrongdoing with regard to a criminal investigation that has been launched in Greece into waste management contracts undertaken by him in Cyprus.

"I have not been involved in any unlawful conduct and firmly believe that my law-abiding conduct will be confirmed in proceedings to follow," Bobolas wrote.

An Athens prosecutor has ordered the criminal prosecution of prominent businessman Leonidas Bobolas and two others connected to his company Helector.

Leonidas Bobolas, CEO of construction firm Ellaktor, said on Wednesday that he contacted authorities to settle a tax issue of his own accord and was not arrested as reports suggested.

Leonidas Bobolas, CEO and Managing Director of ELLAKTOR S.A., is facing the prosecutor for tax evasion. His name appeared on the Lagarde list and he is being questioned for 2 mln euros worth of tax evasion.
