PM Ponta attends Supreme Court to testify in 2012 referendum case

Prime Minister Victor Ponta arrived on Wednesday morning at the High Court of Cassation and Justice (Romania's Supreme Court), where he was subpoenaed as a witness in the case of the 2012 referendum for the discharge of the then President Traian Basescu.

PM Victor Ponta to be heard on March 11 in 'Referendum' criminal case

The High Court of Cassation and Justice (ICCJ, the Supreme Court of Romania - editor's note) has set for March 11 the following date of hearings in the 'Referendum' criminal case, when it decided to hear the witnesses proposed by the defence attorney, among whom Prime minister Victor Ponta.

Dragnea states that Geoana and Vanghelie sabotaged PSD during electoral campaign

The executive chairman of the Social Democrat Party (PSD), Liviu Dragnea, stated, on Wednesday evening, that the main reason for which Mircea Geoana and Marian Vanghelie were expelled from the party was that they sabotaged the activity ongoing during the presidential election campaign, it being "the straw that broke the camel's back" due to "several reasons" that appeared previously.
