Youth Strategic Forum debates development of Slovenia and EU
Maribor – A debate on future development of Slovenia and the EU as part of the Youth Strategic Forum in Maribor on Saturday heard Defence Minister and coalition New Slovenia (NSi) president Matej Tonin noting that it was right that young people were interested in the future, as it depended on them.

Ljubljana, 24 June – Portugal will hand to Slovenia as the next EU presiding country many dossiers, including the endorsement of national recovery and resilience plans and EU enlargement to the Western Balkans, Portuguese Foreign Minister Augusto Santos Silva said after meeting his counterpart Anže Logar in Ljubljana on Thursday.

Slovenia condemns forcible jet landing in Belarus
Ljubljana – Senior Slovenian officials have condemned actions by Belarus after a Rynair flight was forced to land in Minsk. Prime Minister Janez Janša voiced support for sanctions, while President Borut Pahor and the Foreign Ministry called for an independent investigation.

Tirana – The foreign ministers of Slovenia, Austria and the Czech Republic, Anže Logar, Alexander Schallenberg and Jakub Kulhanek, stressed the role of EU enlargement to the Western Balkans as they met senior Albanian officials in Tirana on Sunday, a day after visiting neighbouring North Macedonia.

Skopje – Foreign minister of Slovenia, Austria and the Czech Republic, Anže Logar, Alexander Schallenberg and Jakub Kulhanek, expressed support to North Macedonia’s EU path at a working visit to the country on Saturday. Macedonian FM Bujar Osmani thanked for their support and called for EU accession talks to start as soon as possible.
Maas pledges support to Slovenia’s EU presidency
Berlin – German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas pledged Germany’s support to Slovenia during its presidency to the EU Council ahead of his meeting with Slovenia’s Anže Logar in Berlin on Wednesday. He highlighted the importance of the EU’s enlargement to the Western Balkans and the rule of law. Logar thanked him for the support.

Logar thinks Slovenia and Andorra could boost coop in agriculture, high-tech
Ljubljana – Foreign Minister Anže Logar talked to Andorran Foreign Minister Maria Ubach Font on Friday, with the pair agreeing that the cooperation between Slovenia and Andorra could be enhanced. Logar proposed agriculture and high-tech as the areas with the most potential.
C5 ministers call for coordinated border measures ahead of summer season
Bratislava – The foreign ministers of the Central 5, including Slovenia’s Anže Logar, discussed on Thursday possible relaxation of Covid-19 border restrictions during the summer season. They agreed that coordinating and informing each other about measures was necessary so that movement of people and business is not excessively restricted.
