Monica Bellucci attended the 64th Thessaloniki International Film Festival on Thursday night, where she was celebrated with an honorary Golden Alexander award.
The screening of her new film "Maria Callas: Letters and Memoirs" attracted large crowds outside the Olympion Theater on Wednesday evening, evidence of the mark she has left internationally through her career.

Angelina Jolie to make film in Budapest
After more than 10 years, one of Hollywood's most famous actresses returns to Budapest. Angelina Jolie is expected to shoot a film about Maria Callas in Hungary in October, Budapest Reporter has reported.
The last time Jolie was in Budapest was 13 years ago, when she was directing the Golden Globe-nominated film "In the Land of Blood and Honey."

Homage to Maria Callas with a grand ‘Medea’
In a tribute marking the centennial of Maria Callas' birth, the Greek National Opera is premiering Luigi Cherubini's "Medea" on Tuesday. This major international co-production involves three leading North American opera houses: the Metropolitan Opera in New York City, the Canadian Opera Company and the Lyric Opera of Chicago.
