Today is the day that the final decision for the Bulgarian Commissioner. It is expected that later today the European Parliament will vote the nomination for Maria Gabriel, reported by NOVA.

A hearing of Bulgaria's EU Commissioner-designate Maria Gabriel will be held by the European Parliament on June 20 in Brussels, reported BNR.

Maria Gabriel will answer MEPs questions at a joint meeting of the Parliamentary Committees on Industry and Culture.

The European Commission President Jean-Claude Junker took a decision which Department is suitable for the Bulgarian nomination for European Commissioner Maria Gabriel, after their meeting earlier today.

Her Department is going to be Digital Economy and Society, reported BGNES.

She will support Digital Single Market Strategy which the European Commission admitted in May 2015.

The European Commission President Jean-Claude Junker is going to meet the Bulgarian nomination for European commissioner Maria Gabriel today, reported BNR.

After the meeting, Junker is set to take a decision which Department will be suitable for Maria Gabriel.

The Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov claimed that Bulgaria has a potential to reach an 4,5% economic growth and even more, reported BNR.

Borisov took part in a Forum, devoted to the Juncker plan.  

He also expressed his assurance in the Bulgarian application for the next EU commissioner Maria Gabriel:

A letter of PM Boyko Borisov sent to President of the EC Jean-Claude Juncker informs on the cabinet's decision to nominate MEP Maria Gabriel for Bulgaria's next EU commissioner, stating his certainty that she will have her valuable contribution to the Commission's work, quoted by BNR.

On Tuesday, the nominated for the new Bulgarian euro commissioner Maria Gabriel will meet the Chairman of the European Commission Jean-Claude Junker, reported BNR.

After the conversation, the department ,for which Gabriel will be responsible, will be definited, explained the Minister of Internal Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva.

After the end of the first sitting of the new government of Bulgaria, Foreign Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva announced that the Bulgarian nomination for European commissioner is Maria Gabriel, BNR reported.

To become commissioner, Maria Gabriel, who has been EPP MEP since 2007, will undergo a European Parliament hearing.

Bulgaria's Central Electoral Commission (CEC) announced at a press conference on Wednesday evening the final official results of the European elections in the country. 

Bulgarian center-right GERB's MEP Monika Panayotov announced she will not run in European elections due on May 25.

Panayotova said she had already requested to be removed from opposition party GERB's lists, Dariknews.bg reports.
