Maria Gabrial to become EU Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society

The European Commission President Jean-Claude Junker took a decision which Department is suitable for the Bulgarian nomination for European Commissioner Maria Gabriel, after their meeting earlier today.

Her Department is going to be Digital Economy and Society, reported BGNES.

She will support Digital Single Market Strategy which the European Commission admitted in May 2015.

PM Borisov Expects Over 4,5% Economic Growth For 2018

The Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov claimed that Bulgaria has a potential to reach an 4,5% economic growth and even more, reported BNR.

Borisov took part in a Forum, devoted to the Juncker plan.

Zaharieva: On Tuesday Maria Gabriel Will Talk With EC's Chairman And Her Department Will Come Clear

On Tuesday, the nominated for the new Bulgarian euro commissioner Maria Gabriel will meet the Chairman of the European Commission Jean-Claude Junker, reported BNR.

After the conversation, the department ,for which Gabriel will be responsible, will be definited, explained the Minister of Internal Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva.

The Government Nominates Maria Gabriel as European Commissioner

After the end of the first sitting of the new government of Bulgaria, Foreign Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva announced that the Bulgarian nomination for European commissioner is Maria Gabriel, BNR reported.

To become commissioner, Maria Gabriel, who has been EPP MEP since 2007, will undergo a European Parliament hearing.
