The court sentenced Miroslav Miskovic to two and a half years in prison and a fine of RSD 8 million (approx. Eur 67,800 ).

Miroslav Miskovic was on Wednesday acquitted on charges of financial abuses involving road maintenance companies.

The final verdict passed by the Court of Appeals in Belgrade also ordered that he face retrial on charges of tax evasion.

The Special Court in Belgrade on Friday found Marko Miskovic guilty of tax evasion and sentenced him to 3.5 years in jail.

Miskovic is the son of Miroslav Miskovic, the owner of Delta Holding.

Prosecution appeals decision on Delta Holding owner

BELGRADE -- The Organize Crime Prosecution has appealed against the decision to reinstate the right to travel abroad to Miroslav Mišković and his son Marko Mišković.

The decision was made by the Special Department of the Higher Court in Belgrade.

"Why don't you allow me to work normally and Delta to operate normally?" Miskovic asked during his Belgrade trial for fraud concerning the privatization of road companies.

Miskovic said he was deeply disappointed with the court's decision to ban him from travelling and that Delta could not operate normally with him "sitting in Serbia.
