Romanian tennis player Marius Copil on Sunday advanced to the men's singles second round of the 717,955-USD Winston-Salem ATP tournament in North Carolina, US, after defeating Slovak Martin Klizan 6-4 3-6 6-3. Copil, 28, world number 96, prevailed in two hours and six minutes.

Djokovic through to Wimbledon 2nd round as Klizan retires
LONDON - Serbia's top-ranked male tennis player Novak Djokovic is off to a successful start at Wimbledon after Slovak Martin Klizan retired from their first round encounter on Tuesday due to injury.
Djokovic, who was leading 6-3, 2-0, is now 4-0 head-to-head against Klizan.

Djokovic beats Klizan in Acapulco opener
ACAPULCO - Serbia's top-ranked male tennis player Novak Djokovic has got off to a successful start at the Acapulco ATP tournament after beating Martin Klizan of Slovakia 6-3, 7-6 (7-4) on Wednesday.
Djokovic, who won after 95 minutes of play, is now 3-0 head-to-head against Klizan.

Sofia Hosts Bulgaria's First ATP World Tour Tournament
For the first time in history, Bulgaria hosts a tournament from the ATP World Tour.
The first edition of Garanti Koza Sofia Open began on Monday and will last until Sunday, with the Arena Armeec hall being the venue for the matches.
The draw took place on Saturday, qualifications followed on Saturday and Sunday and the matches from the first round began on Monday.
Troicki through to Monte Carlo second round
MONTE CARLO - Serbia's tennis player Viktor Troicki reached the second round at the Monte Carlo Masters on Tuesday, after defeating Martin Klizan of Slovakia 7-6 (7-5), 5-7, 6-2 at the start of the tournament.
In the previous five matches against Klizan, the Serbian tennis player clinched four victories.

Djokovic reaches Miami Open third round
BELGRADE - Serbia's Novak Djokovic is through to the Miami Open third round after claiming a three-set win over Slovakia's Martin Klizan 6-0, 5-7, 6-1 early on Sunday.
Djokovic is next to take on Steve Darcis of Belgium, who notched up a surprise victory over Gilles Muller of Luxembourg 6-4, 6-7 (2), 6-3.

Djokovic,Tipsarevic fall short of Miami doubles second round
MIAMI - Serbian tennis players Novak Djokovic and Janko Tipsarevic did not make it to the second round of the Miami Open men's doubles after they were edged by Austrian Jurgen Melzer and Swedish Robert Lindstedt 6-4, 3-6, 10-7.
The doubles match on Friday evening marked Tipsarevic's return to competition after being sidelined by injury for one year and a half.
Djokovic to open Miami campaign against Klizan
MIAMI - World No. 1 Novak Djokovic will begin his campaign in Miami against Slovakia's Martin Klizan.
The Slovakian advanced after a 6-3, 6-4 win over Italy's Paolo Lorenzi on Thursday. Top-seeded Djokovic received a bye in the first round, and the match against Klizan will take place in the night between Saturday and Sunday, at 1 a.m. CET.

Troicki gets off to winning start in Sydney
SYDNEY - Serbia's Viktor Troicki reached the second round of the Sydney ATP tournament early Tuesday after beating Martin Klizan of Slovakia 6-2, 6-3 in just 48 minutes.
Troicki will next face Spain's Pablo Andujar, who beat Finland's Jarkko Nieminen 6-2, 6-2.
The prize money in Sydney is USD 439,405.
