Baldwin to face charge over shooting

Alec Baldwin is to be charged with involuntary manslaughter over the accidental shooting of a cinematographer on the set of the low-budget western "Rust," a prosecutor said on Jan. 19.

Baldwin was holding the Colt .45 during rehearsals for the film when it discharged, killing Halyna Hutchins and wounding director Joel Souza in October 2021.

Criminal charges against Alec Baldwin not ruled out: Prosecutor

Prosecutors refused on Oct. 27 to rule out criminal charges against Alec Baldwin for a deadly shooting, as police pointed to "complacency" on the U.S. movie set.

Baldwin killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins when his gun went off as they were rehearsing a scene in the 19th-century western "Rust".

Director Joel Souza was also hurt.
