Revered American novelist, dies at 89

Celebrated author Cormac McCarthy, an unflinching chronicler of America's bleak frontiers and grim underbelly, died on June 13 aged 89, his publisher said.

The Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist who wrote "The Road" and "No Country for Old Men" - both of which became feature films - passed away at his home in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Weinstein used Hollywood power to rape, court hears

Harvey Weinstein used his power and influence in Hollywood to rape women, leaving them terrified for their careers if they stood up to him, a court in Los Angeles heard on Oct. 24.

The movie mogul exploited both his physical size and his position as "king" of the film industry to attack his victims in hotel rooms, the prosecution said, as a two-month trial began to hear evidence.

The 74th Edition of the Oldest Film Festival Opens in Venice

This year's edition of the oldest film festival will be opened in Venice. Reports Btv. 

The forum will be opened with screening of the American director Alexander Payne's film "Little Big Life". It will compete for the grand prize "Golden Lion" with 20 other films, including the drama of Guillermo del Toro's "The Form of the Water" and the thriller "Mother" by Darren Aronofsky.
