Fenerbahçe beat Galatasaray 2-1 in nail-biter Turkish Süper Lig derby

Fenerbahçe breathed a sigh of relief on Nov. 21 night in the Turkish Süper Lig, coming from behind to beat archrival Galatasaray 2-1 in an away game.

The victory in the tense game was Fenerbahçe's first league win in five games and came at a time coach Vitor Pereira and club chairman Ali Koç were under immense pressure.

10-man Galatasaray survive in 5-goal clash against Rizespor with injury-time winner

Ten-man Galatasaray on Oct. 3 bagged a precious away victory in a knife-edge Turkish Süper Lig match against Çaykur Rizespor 3-2 with a very late winner scored by Romanian midfielder Olimpiu Morutan.

Visitors' Egyptian forward Mostafa Mohamed drew the first blood in the Black Sea province of Rize, scoring a left-footed strike in the area in minute five.

Marseille-Galatasaray match halted after rivals fans clash

The Europa League game between Marseille and Galatasaray was interrupted for about 10 minutes after rival fans threw flares and firecrackers at each other at Stade Velodrome on Sept. 30. 

The match finished 0-0 but pockets of rival fans were fighting inside the stadium more than 30 minutes after the final whistle.

Turkish clubs advance to UEFA Conference League playoffs

Galatasaray eliminated Scotland's St Johnstone with a 5-3 aggregate score on Aug. 12 to advance to the UEFA Europa League playoffs.

Galatasaray defeated Atakaş Hatayspor 3-0 in their Turkish Süper Lig game on Dec. 5.

Galatasaray's Senegalese star Mbaye Diagne scored the opener in the 32nd minute at the Türk Telekom Stadium.

The first half ended with a 1-0 score.

In minute 64, Hatayspor defender Pablo Santos scored an own goal as the Lions doubled the lead.
