US, Turkey agree to try to resolve disputes after relations dive
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu agreed on Friday to try to resolve a series of disputes, after relations between the NATO allies sank to their lowest point in decades.

Amid high-running tensions between Ankara and Washington over the arrest of U.S Pastor Andrew Craig Brunson, Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and his U.S. counterpart Secretary of State Mike Pompeo held another phone conversation on Aug. 1.

Lute sees Cavusoglu in Ankara
Jane Holl Lute, the special envoy of the UN Secretary General, wasted no time following a busy week by visiting Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu on Monday.
