Mico Jovicic

Mico Jovicic, a wartime volunteer fighter for Bosnian Serb forces, told Belgrade Higher Court that all five defendants on trial for the kidnapping and killing of 20 passengers from a train at Strpci station in Bosnia and Herzegovina were at the crime scenes when the offences were committed.

The Bosnian state prosecution on Friday charged Milan Lukic, the wartime leader of the Avengers paramilitary group, with crimes against 20 passengers who were abducted from a train at Strpci station near Visegrad in eastern Bosnia in February 1993 and then murdered.

On February 27, 1993, Nail Kajevic waited in the southern Serbian town of Prijepolje for his brother Nijazim to arrive by train from Belgrade. But when the train arrived after some delay, his brother was not on it and the other passengers had a gruesome story to tell.

After striking a plea bargain and admitting guilt, Bosnian Serb ex-soldier Mico Jovicic was jailed for five years for his involvement in the abduction of 20 passengers from a train in Strpci in 1993.
