Tipsarevic loses to Youzhny in St. Petersburg opener

ST. PETERSBURG - Serbia's Janko Tipsarevic lost 6-3, 7-5 to Russia's Mikhail Youzhny in the opening round of the St. Petersburg Open tennis tournament on Wednesday.

Youzhny won after 112 minutes of play and is now 5-1 head-to-head against Tipsarevic.

The prize money in St. Petersburg is 923,550 dollars.

Troicki through to Barcelona third round

BARCELONA - Serbia's Viktor Troicki is through to the third round of the Barcelona ATP tennis tournament after beating Hungary's Marton Fucsovics 6-4, 1-6, 6-0 on Wednesday.

After unexpectedly losing a set to the little-known qualifier, Troicki justified the role of favourite and will next face Italy's Fabio Fognini, who defeated Mikhail Youzhny of Russia 3-6, 6-0, 6-1.

Sofia Hosts Bulgaria's First ATP World Tour Tournament

For the first time in history, Bulgaria hosts a tournament from the ATP World Tour.

The first edition of Garanti Koza Sofia Open began on Monday and will last until Sunday, with the Arena Armeec hall being the venue for the matches.

The draw took place on Saturday, qualifications followed on Saturday and Sunday and the matches from the first round began on Monday.

Bulgaria's Grigor Dimitrov Starts Successfully Defence of Queen's Club Title

Bulgaria's top male tennis player Grigor Dimitrov made a successful start to the defence of his Aegeon championship title at the Queen's Club in London.

Dimitrov achieved a comeback and defeated Sam Querrey from the USA with 6:4, 3:6, 4;6 in the first round of the tournament.

Troicki reaches Miami third round

BELGRADE - Serbia's Viktor Troicki is through to the third round of the ATP tournament in Miami courtesy of a victory over Italian Simone Bolelli 7-5, 3-6, 6-4.

Serbia's second best player is next to take on fourth seed Kei Nishikori of Japan, who outplayed Mikhail Youzhny 6-2, 6-1.

Nadal, Murray cruise at Open as Ivanovic crashes

Zimonjic loses in Shanghai second round

SHANGHAI - Serbian Nenad Zimonjic and Canadian Daniel Nestor lost in the second round of the ATP tournament in Shanghai on Wednesday.

Second seeds in the doubles competition were defeated by the Czech/Russian pair of Lukas Rosol and Mikhail Youzhny by 7-6 (8-6), 6-2.

The prize fund of the 2014 Shanghai Rolex Masters totals USD 8.5 million.

Djokovic breezes into Dubai quarterfinals

DUBAI - Serbia's best tennis player Novak Djokovic advanced to the quarterfinals of the ATP tournament in Dubai late on Wednesday.

Djokovic notched up an easy 6-1, 6-3 win against world no. 51 Roberto Bautista Agut of Spain.

Next up for Djokovic is a match against Russia's Mikhail Youzhny, who defeated British number three James Ward earlier today by 6-1, 7-6 (7-3).
