The Bosnian state court on Thursday found Boban Indjic guilty, as commander of the Interventions Company of the Bosnian Serb Army's Visegrad Brigade, of participating in the abductions and subsequent murders of 20 civilians who were seized from a train at Strpci station in Bosnia on February 27, 1993.

The Serbian Prosecutor's Office for War Crimes urged Belgrade Higher Court on Tuesday to convict four defendants accused of involvement in the abduction and subsequent killing of passengers from a train at Strpci station in February 1993 and give them "the maximum prison sentences".

The Mechanism for International Criminal Tribunals has rejected a request for early release and a pardon from Milan Lukic, the wartime leader of a Bosnian Serb paramilitary group who is currently serving a life sentence in Estonia.

Ljubisa Vasiljevic, a wartime Serb paramilitary fighter who was one of five defendants in the Strpci trial at Belgrade Higher Court, has died.

Belgrade Higher Court told BIRN that Vasiljevic died on July 6 and that "due to that fact, the court adopted a decision to suspend the proceedings [against him] on August 16, 2021".

The International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals in The Hague on Tuesday dismissed a request from Milan Lukic, wartime commander of the White Eagles paramilitary unit, for a review of his conviction leading to a possible sentence reduction.

The appeals chamber of the Bosnian state court has upheld the verdict convicting Radomir Susnjar of involvement in wartime crimes in the Visegrad area in June 1992, including the murder of 26 civilians - one of them a two-day-old baby - who were locked inside a house that was then burned.

Mico Jovicic, a wartime volunteer fighter for Bosnian Serb forces, told Belgrade Higher Court that all five defendants on trial for the kidnapping and killing of 20 passengers from a train at Strpci station in Bosnia and Herzegovina were at the crime scenes when the offences were committed.

The Bosnian state prosecution on Friday charged Milan Lukic, the wartime leader of the Avengers paramilitary group, with crimes against 20 passengers who were abducted from a train at Strpci station near Visegrad in eastern Bosnia in February 1993 and then murdered.

The Bosnian state court in Sarajevo on Wednesday convicted Radomir Susnjar, alias Lalco, of involvement in wartime crimes in the Visegrad area in June 1992, including the murder of 26 civilians - one of them a two-day-old baby - who were locked inside a house that was then burned.

Radomir Susnjar told the Bosnian state court on Thursday that he felt pity for the victims, but did not participate in the murder of 57 civilians in a house in Pionirska Street in Visegrad in June 1992.

"I do not feel guilty, because I am not the person who did that," said ex-fighter Susnjar.
