On February 19, 1990, the Romanian Association of Theatre Artists, UNITER, came into existence. About 35 artists back then gathered in a General Assembly to represent actors, directors, set designers, critics, literary secretaries and theatrologists in the field of performing and creative drama and decided to establish the Romanian Association of Theatre Artists - UNITER.

Incumbent President Klaus Iohannis is leading the first round of the presidential election, with 36.91%, followed by PSD candidate, Viorica Dancila - 23.45%, and candidate of USR-PLUS Alliance, Dan Barna - 14.19%, after counting the votes from 18,781 polling stations, Spokesman for the Central Electoral Bureau (BEC) Mircea Preotescu said on Monday.

Klaus Iohannis is ranking first in the first round of the November 10 presidential election, with 36.66%, according to the provisional results after counting the ballots cast in all the 18,748 polling stations in Romania. According to the data provided by the Permanent Electoral Authority (AEP), out of the 8,546,545 valid votes cast, the PNL candidate garnered 3,132,888 votes.

With 99.9 percent of the ballots counted on Monday morning, incumbent President Klaus Iohannis, from the National Liberal Party, PNL, came out on top with 36.6 per cent of the votes in the first round of the Romanian presidential elections.

Social Democratic Party, PSD candidate Viorica Dancila came second with 23.7 per cent, and will now face Iohannis in a run-off on November 24.

A count of ballots from 705 polling stations abroad shows the National Liberal Party (PNL) presidential hopeful, incumbent President Klaus Iohannis, winning 53.83% of the vote abroad, followed by the USR PLUS Alliance candidate Dan Barna - 26.42%.

National Liberal Party (PNL) candidate in the presidential election, President Klaus Iohannis, garnered in Sunday's ballot a number of 2,256 votes in the diaspora, and Save Romanian Union - Freedom, Solidarity and Unity Party (USR- PLUS) Alliance representative Dan Barna - 2,249 votes, after the count of paper ballots in 51 polling stations abroad.
