Miroslav "Mika" Aleksic

A former pupil of the well-known acting teacher Miroslav "Mika" Aleksic told Belgrade's Higher Court on Friday that she was frightened to report the sexual abuse she'd survived when it happened.

She tesitifed that she was abused in 2015 but only reported it to the police in 2021, after other former pupils spoke out about what had happened to them.

After several Serbian women actors launched a court case against the well-known acting teacher Miroslav "Mika" Aleksic, accusing him of raping several of his pupils, women from various former Yugoslav countries, mostly actors and artists, have started sharing their own experiences of abuse on social media, sending the message to each other that they are not alone.
