Qatar says Gaza truce proposal to be sent to Hamas as war rages on

A framework to halt the Gaza fighting and for hostage releases is to be relayed to Hamas, mediator Qatar said Monday, as a bitter row flared around the U.N. aid agency for Palestinians.

While deadly fighting again rocked Gaza, fears mounted of a widening regional conflict after Israel's top ally Washington vowed to respond to an attack that killed three U.S. troops in Jordan.

Hamas chief in Egypt for talks on Gaza truce and hostage release

The leader of Hamas travelled to Egypt on Wednesday as hopes grew that Israel and the Palestinian militant group may be inching toward another truce and hostage release deal in the Gaza war.

The Qatar-based Hamas chief, Ismail Haniyeh, arrived in Cairo for discussions on the "aggression in the Gaza Strip and other matters", the group said in a statement.

New Gaza truce efforts as aid system nears collapse

The U.N. Security Council struggled to find a unified voice Tuesday on pausing the Israel-Hamas war as aid efforts neared collapse and global economic fallout spread.

With calls growing for a new truce, Qatar-based Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh is to visit Egypt on Wednesday for talks on a ceasefire in Gaza and a prisoner exchange with Israel, a source close to the Islamist group said.

FM says Türkiye, Qatar will continue cooperation

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has affirmed Türkiye's commitment to working closely with Qatar to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

"We do not accept the attack that hit civilians in Gaza. Israel must immediately recant from this mistake," Fidan said during a joint press conference with his Qatari counterpart, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, in Doha on Oct. 25.

Logar and EU ministers discuss Russia, Afghanistan and China relations

Brussels – EU foreign ministers were clear as they met in Brussels on Monday that any aggresion by Russia against Ukraine will have political consequences and a high economic cost, said EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell, while Slovenian FM Anže Logar added that there was a general awareness of the gravity of the situation.
