BELGRADE -- Serbian citizen Muhedin Gegic who was stranded in war-torn Yemen, and his family has been evacuated and are expected to arrive in Serbia.

BELGRADE -- The parents of a Serbian citizen who is asking the Serbian government to help him leave Yemen say that he traveled there "on his own initiative."

Jusuf Gegic, the father of Muhedin Gegic, told the daily Vecernje Novosti that he did not see his son for the past 12 years.

Serbian citizen "trapped" in Yemen

BELGRADE -- Serbian citizen Muhedin Gegic and his Yemeni wife and four children are "trapped" in the Middle Eastern country, according to Serbia's state broadcaster RTS.

Gegic told RTS that he was in daily contact with the Serbian embassy in Dubai, that he "awaits evacuation, and thinks all that will soon be resolved."
